San Francisco 49ers Mike Rumph Ahmed Plummer Bryant Young Jonas Jennings

The San Francisco 49ers season has been called many things. One of the words that many people have said is injury prone.Through twelve games this year the team has experienced injuries to Mike Rumph, Ahmed Plummer, Bryant Young, Eric Johnson, Jeremy Newberry, and the $36 million dollar man Jonas Jennings. Now let's not kid ourselves here. Even without the current injuries the team itself would still not be playoff-caliber and still could be 2-10 as the thirteenth game of the season approaches. For the team, however, losing six starters for the remainder of 4 Brett Favre Purple jersey
the regular season could end up helping them next year. Several key reserves have stepped into the starting roles and are enjoying a good dose of playing experience. Bruce Thornton, Mike Adams, Derrick Johnson, Ben Emanuel, and David Baas have all received more playing time to showcase what they may be able to do. Mike Nolan and his young coaching staff should be constantly evaluating these players to determine what their possible needs could be through the draft and free agency. Most of the above listed players are either rookies or free agents who came out of nowhere to sign on with the team. Of course the San Francisco 49ers will have a plethora of holes to fill but some of these players may provide a good young foundation to build on.
