Miami Dolphins Grab Victory in Oakland While Jon Gruden News Buzzes Around Town

The Dolphins were in a celebratory mood after putting together a complete game on both sides of the ball. The talk of Miami for the past 24 hours surrounded Jon Gruden.
Yesterday I relayed a Greg Cote story about San Diego Chargers jersey
Gruden possibly coming to coach the Miami Dolphins, along with my feeling about it.
If the reports I'm hearing all over Twitter hold up, I might be half-right—Gruden is coming to Miami, but to coach the Hurricanes.
Now I'm a 'Canes fan as well and upon looking at the situations, Gruden would be better off at The U. More job security, no salary cap to worry about, and the guarantee that if he agrees to take the job he'll actually have a job next season that will pay him in full.
The U would be better for him too. This way, he could choose the athletes he wants to run his offense instead of having to go with what's given to him by a GM. Gruden would also help Miami recruit the Tampa-St. Pete and Orlando areas due to his former position as head coach of the Buccaneers.
But enough Gruden talk, for fittingly the Miami Dolphins were taking on the Oakland Raiders, who gave Gruden his first Head Coaching job.
For the second time in three games, the much-maligned Dolphins coaching staff came up with a good game plan that accentuated the strengths of the team while hiding their weaknesses. The Dolphins offense was the most balanced that its been all season. The team rushed for 186 yards on 49 attempts. Average wise this isn't great, however it showed a commitment to the running game not seen for most of the season.
To add to that, Chad Henne went nfl jersey
a solid 17/30 for 307 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a passer rating of 100.3.
The Dolphins defense also showed up today. They held the Raiders offense to only 10 points (the other seven came off the opening kick off) and 16 yards rushing.
Yes, 16 rushing yards. The Raiders were ranked second in the league in running the ball going into the game.
The one area that was problematic was special teams.
They gave up an opening kickoff touchdown and Carpenter missed two field goals.
However Carpenter's two missed field goals, usually a time to panic for the 'Phins, turned out to be unneeded.
Ricky Williams' 45-yard touchdown run with 3:12 left in the fourth quarter that cemented the final score made sure of that.
So where does Miami go from here?
They're still alive for the playoffs and have a winnable game against the Browns at home next Sunday. The hope is to stop Peyton Hillis and hope that the Browns start Delhomme. Both are easier said than done.
But for now, let's enjoy the Saints jersey
Dolphins victory on a day that might or might not be a banner day for the University of Miami Hurricanes at the place where the possible next coach of the Canes started his head coaching career.
