Hollywood movie 'Sudan' is the first official selection from India in seven years at the Cannes International Film Festival. The film is a creation by debutant director Vikramaditya Motswana, who has noteworthy experience as a film-maker. Forced to work in his father's steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, he tries to create a life of his own within the parameters set for him and pursue his dream of being a writer.
Vikramaditya's director friend, Anuran Kashia wanted to produce the film ever since he read the first draft of the script. After years of trying to get a producer for this film, Kashia and another friend raised enough money that allowed Vikramaditya to go ahead and make the film.
